If so, please read on as this fixed term, part-time, term time only* Student Support Co-ordinator role in our busy School of Arts may be of interest to you.
Working as part of an administrative team, and in conjunction with senior colleagues, you will provide a professional and wide ranging pastoral support service to students who may be experiencing problems.
As Student Support Co-ordinator you will:
- act as a point of contact for students with difficulties or problems that may be, or are at risk of affecting their studies
- assist with the administration of concessions, extensions and appeal procedures
- undertake the monitoring of student attendance according to Academic Diligence procedures
- produce management information and undertake straightforward data analysis
To succeed in this role you will have:
- an education to GCSE A-C or 9-4 standard in Maths and English level, or equivalent
- experience of establishing new procedures and/or amending existing procedures
-experience of maintaining accurate electronic and database records
- the ability to work confidently and independently with great sensitivity and cultural awareness
*This contract will be for 31 weeks in total, including paid annual leave, to cover term time only plus two additional weeks 6-10 January and 27 April to 1 May 2020.
The School of Arts offers teaching programmes in the areas of Drama & Theatre, Film, History of Art and Media Studies. It is home to over 800 students, 41 academic staff, and 23 administrative and technical staff. The School is housed on the Canterbury campus in the award-winning Jarman building, which provides a striking working environment and excellent facilities for staff and students including a 144sqm white cube gallery, film production facilities and fully-equipped drama studios.
