5 year Fixed Term Contract
3 days (21 hours) per week
Salary £21,557 - £22,769 (FTE £35,929 - £37,949)
The Diocese of Rochester has received significant funding from the National Church enabling five of its parishes in deprived areas to run projects focusing on creative ministry and outreach with the ultimate aim of ensuring that the Church of England once more becomes a growing church for all people in all places. The projects will be part of Called to Grow, one of the workstreams in the diocese’s Called Together vision.
This funding enables the diocese to also employ a central Called to Grow Project Manager, who will work with the Called Together Manager, Priority Parishes and Project Board members to ensure the smooth running of the Called to Grow project. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the Called to Grow project include planning, financials, communications, governance, monitoring and reporting. They will support parish leaders and PCCs in their leadership and monitoring of their projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish and develop relationships with the Priority Parishes, providing a vital governance link with the Project Board
• Ensure regular and accurate monitoring and reporting takes place, including progress against outcomes
• Project manage risks and issues, escalating as necessary
• Track progress against the project plan
• Manage and track changes in project scope, schedule and costs, t
• Operate and manage the project budget,
• Proactive day-to-day stakeholder engagement, building on positive feedback and identifying any barriers/resistance to change
Successful candidates should have:
• Proven track record of managing a range of projects
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of complex stakeholders
• Experience of project monitoring and evaluation methods
• A desire to serve the church
