Papermaking Apprenticeship

Arjowiggins Chartham Mill is part of a larger Paper Manufacturing Company based in the village of Chartham just outside Canterbury. Our translucent paper products, which we have made on this site since 1938, are used for many applications worldwide. We are pleased to announce that we are entering an exciting phase of Company development. We are actively promoting our capability to produce recyclable and environmentally friendly paper products for new applications in a variety of markets.

To deliver our accredited Quality, Safety and Environmental manufacturing process, we have opportunities in our Production Department.

Production Operatives:

We are looking for existing (or those prepared to be developed) Production Process Operatives.

• Our Paper Machine runs 24/7 on 12-hour annualised hours shift pattern working a total of 1725 hours per year.

• Experience of working 12- hour shifts in a production environment is desirable although not essential. The successful candidate must be willing to work in all parts of the Paper Machine and other areas of the Mill as required.

• Full training in our Paper manufacturing process will be provided to successful candidates with the possibility of completing a Papermaking Apprenticeship for those interested in a development opportunity.

As a trained Papermaker you will receive a salary of around £31,000 per year (17.67 P.H.). Additional benefits, training and hours will be provided upon request or at interview.
