Royal Tunbridge Wells Together (RTWT BID) is looking for an experienced Marketing & Communications Exec with the same level of passion, belief and commitment to Royal Tunbridge Wells as our Board and the town centre businesses.

Working as part of a small team, the successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and creative individual who can help deliver our plans for the town centre and make a real difference.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of the role

The Royal Tunbridge Wells Together BID Marketing & Communications Exec will play a key role in positively promoting RTWT BID and the activities we undertake, boosting the profile of the town and working with businesses to ensure we make the most of our town's great offer.

Main Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy

• Management and delivery of Marketing Strategy for Royal Tunbridge Wells town & BID, taking forward the new branding developed for the town
• Working with key stakeholders and partners to ensure a synergy of communications & branding across the town
• Development and implementation of targeted marketing campaigns to attract and retain visitors, footfall and spend in the town

Events and Campaigns

• Management & development of campaigns, events, activities which meet BID objectives
• Commissioning & management of a wide range of communications and marketing materials, including campaigns, publications, exhibitions, events, publications, displays, newsletters and presentation, as required

Website & Social Media

• Developing and maintaining all BID digital platforms, including websites and social media
• Manage content development of RTWT website (Wordpress)
Innovation
• Explore new initiatives and ways of working with stakeholders and partners which demonstrate innovation and increasing awareness of technology and its use in the town centre

Partnerships

• Work effectively with a range of stakeholders to deliver a wide range of campaigns while demonstrating value for money and including generating income to support BID and cross stakeholder initiatives
• Lead and develop strong relationships with the media and partner organisations
Corporate responsibilities
• Manage all allocated budgets effectively and ensure value for money
• Ensure projects have clear KPIs and report outcomes to BID Manager & Board
• Building ongoing relationships with BID levy payers

Skills & qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Knowledge of different communication & marketing techniques and mediums
• Understanding of working with complex partnerships
• Skilled marketing & communication professional
• IT skills

Experience

• Working in marketing & communications
• Working with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders from the public and private sector
• Managing & implementing projects and campaigns
• Managing budgets
• Writing reports & proposals
• IT knowledge across a range of products including Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint

Personal Qualities

• Excellent people and relationship-building skills
• Excellent communication skills across a range of disciplines
• Ability to multi-task and manage a number of activities and projects, and deliver to tight timescales
• Good negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Political awareness
• Open to new ideas
• Creative and innovative thinker
• Effective under pressure
