Cobb & Jones recruitment are working with a successful, international business in Medway that are in a position to recruit a dynamic and experienced Management Accountant to support their Group Financial Controller and take responsibility for a wide variety of tasks, including the following:

• Production and consolidation of monthly Group management accounts in accordance with the month-end timetable.
• Variance analysis and preparation of commentary to accompany monthly management accounts.
• Review and document current processes within the Group and make recommendations to the Group Financial Controller on how systems/processes can be standardised and improved/streamlined across the Group.
• Implement and maintain strong financial controls within the Group.
• Reconciliation of Group intercompany balances on a monthly basis.
• Supporting the budgeting process, working closely with the Financial Controller.
• Implementation of rolling reforecasts across the Group.
• Monitor and analyse financial information for projects.
• Assist with the year-end audit process to ensure that it runs smoothly.
• Assist the Group Financial Controller with the implementation of new accounting software.
• Maintain knowledge of UK GAAP issues and ensure compliance.
• Provide cover for other roles within the finance team as and when necessary.

Candidates will possess current management accounting experience, ideally from a product-based background. The business is open to part qualified/newly qualified individuals or those qualified by experience. Demonstrable experience in management accounting, financial reporting and a controls focussed approach will be essential together with the following skills:
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail, confidence, good judgement showing logical decision making and a hands-on approach in a dynamic environment.
• Well organised with strength in prioritising.
