COMMIS CHEF APPRENTICE (FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 17 MONTHS FROM START)

Hours: 26 hours per week (Monday to Friday; inc. study time) / 40 weeks per annum (term time).
Salary: £5,512.60 per annum (equivalent to £5.30 per hour), plus holiday pay.
Location: Lower Higham Road, Gravesend.

North Kent College is currently recruiting for an Apprentice Commis Chef to join our Refectory team. Responsible to the Chef Manager, the role will involve developing skills and completing tasks as directed to maximise the enjoyment of visitors. You will be expected to promote a positive atmosphere, allowing customers to have a memorable visit as a result of excellent customer service and an outstanding eating experience.

The Commis Apprentice will need to be available to attend shifts during a 5-day roster, between 8am and 6pm where required, and will need to show flexibility to work at other sites if necessary. Training will take place on the job in the Refectory and in the training kitchens of the Hospitality curriculum area.

This role is an apprenticeship opportunity and full training will be given on all aspects of doing the job whilst studying for the Commis Chef Apprentice standards qualification.
