Pilgrim Hospices are seeking a proactive individual to lead and effectively manage our new Furniture Showroom in Folkestone. They will be working with an amazing team of volunteers selling donated and up-cycled furniture, home-wares and linens
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in charity retail sales environment, managing a team of volunteers and staff, and have an awareness of appropriate Health and Safety requirements. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills to balance the needs of customers, donors, volunteers and staff.
A typical day would involve diary management for deliveries, organising staff and volunteers (assisting where necessary), ensuring all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to, running and managing the sales floor and overseeing the stock room, and maximising Gift Aid revenues.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to put their stamp on a brand new store and build their own volunteer team.
The shop floor is some 3,000sq ft and will stock a full range of furniture as well as household goods and linens. In the stock room there will be a ‘man shed’ established to provide a safe space for all to come along and get involved in up-cycling furniture and making garden ornaments.
Please note this role will involve the moving and handling of furniture.
