The Role:

A growing and successful manufacturing business is seeking a highly credible and commercially focused HR Advisor to provide a truly generalist service.

Based in Sheerness, this is a newly created role following a restructure within the HR function, and as such will provide you with the platform to develop as a HR practitioner within the organisation whilst being given the opportunity to make a clear and positive impression on the effectiveness of the business.

Reporting to the General Manager, and covering approximately 85 staff, and based in Sheerness with occasional travel to our sister location in Sittingbourne, you will have regular interaction with a number of key senior internal stakeholders, dealing with both operational HR issues and project work.

Whilst you will be the ‘go to’ person for day to day operational HR matters, you will have the support of both our retained HR Consultant and employment law service provider.

This is a truly exciting time to be joining the organisation as they seek a target of 50% growth over the next 12 months, and you will have a key part to play in the business realising this ambition.

Key Tasks:

• Undertake end to end administration and coordination of the complete employment cycle from onboarding and induction of new staff to conduct and capability processes up to and including dismissal.
• Support the General Manager in implementing group HR strategy
• Develop, implement and administer office systems, policies and procedures to support effective people management
• With the support of our employment law advisers, support managers in day to day people management activities. providing guidance as required to ensure compliant, pragmatic and equitable solutions to be people issues.

Profile
• CIPD Level 5 qualified (or studying towards, with a minimum attainment of level 3); or qualified by experience with at least 2 years at advisory level
• Commercially minded, seek to make improvements and not feel the need to be handheld
• Confidence in challenging appropriately, and ensures managers take ownership of people issues.
• Professional and confident demeanour.
• Robust and resilient character.
• Solid experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
• Able to exercise discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company and personal information
• Possess strong organisational skills with the ability to think proactively and manage changing priorities

Job Offer
• 20 days annual leave plus 8 public holidays (increasing by one day per complete year of service up to 25 days, plus 8 public holidays)
