Working for a global manufacturing business, you will be responsible for the development and industrialisation of new raw materials and trial compounds and technical support for existing business in compound development, processing and performance evaluation.

General duties to include:
• Work with the R&D Manager on new development and sustaining projects
• Determine evaluations and approval testing of new raw materials and trial compounds during pre-production and production scale processing
• Write reports on raw material and trial compound behaviour during handling and processing and throughout various stages of the industrialisation process to ensure a robust and lowest cost route to product launch
• Work closely with the R&D, Planning and/or Production/Process Engineering personnel to ensure effective communication of scale-up requirements and timings
• Support pre-production compounding lines when required
• Support Production and Process Engineering teams during scale-up trials
• Support the R&D Manager in the maintenance of the R&D development records
• Support the Technical Department on processing technical requests raised by customers
• Support the Quality Department on processing and testing of production compounds
• Assist the R&D Manager with customer support requirements, including customer visits where necessary
• Contribute to company 6 Sigma projects and 5S initiatives

Key Skills and Experience:
• A relevant B Eng. or B Sc. Qualification including some relevant industrial experience or a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (including Maths & Science) or equivalent, including NVQ’s in a practical subject OR
• A minimum of 3 years’ industrial experience in production, research or process laboratories. Laboratory skills and processing experience would be an advantage
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Possess effective communication skills
• Ability to manage time and prioritise work load
• Be self-motivating, flexible and have an eye for detail
