Events Manager - Maternity Cover

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000

Hours: 45 hours per week - shift pattern as required for events

Location: Tunbridge Wells

Start Date: 03/02/2020 - maternity contract for 6-12 months

The Company

A stunning Victorian mansion set in 36 acres of rolling hills is now recruiting for an enthusiastic and passionate Events Manager to cover Maternity for 6-12 months.

The Job Role

* Ensure all events are delivered to meet/exceed client expectations
* Ensure that all events are costed effectively
* Ensure that all event communication (internal and external) is correct and delivered in a timely manner
* Ensure event team members are completing their administrative and hosting roles to a high level
* Work closely with the sales and operations teams
* Ensure all event spaces are always customer ready and that any maintenance issues are dealt with a timely manner
* Achieve KPIs on communication time frames and upselling targets
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other departments
* Manage the events inbox and liaise with clients once passed over from the sales team
* Meet and communicate with clients to discuss requirements, and record these effectively within the booking system
* Ensure accurate invoices are sent to clients for payment pre-event delivery
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with repeat clients and customers

The Successful Applicant

* Extensive knowledge of hotel operations and previous wedding and event planning experience
* Excellent customer service skills
* Good interpersonal & communication skills
* Commercial awareness
* Eye for detail and able to work on own initiative
* IT proficient
* Understanding of Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and Licensing Legislation.
