Contracted Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 8.00 am – 16.00 (plus 1 in 3 weekends)
Salary: £16,385 per annum
Location: William Harvey Hospital( Ashford)

What does the role look like?



As part of our team at the William Harvey Hospital your role is to Undertake collection and delivery of Medical Equipment Library devices and to contribute to the upkeep of the devices with the MEL.



Key responsibilities will include:



Provide a basic clinical technical service processing and supplying medical equipment
Routinely RFID Scan wards and clinical areas to keep MEL databases up to date with device locations
Undertake cleaning tasks for a range of medical devices
To undertake routine first line/user maintenance tasks (following a period of induction training and competency assessment) requiring use of fine tooling and delicate materials
Remove devices from use if failures occur and analysis shows remedial work is beyond the scope of the MEL Assistant
Liaises with EME workshop to ensure the processing of routine maintenance is maximised
Provides MEL consumable items in accordance with section procedures
Accurately records usage as per section procedures
Undertakes stock control tasks as requested by MEL Technician
Processes delivery notes and stock records in accordance with MEL procedures
May be required to undertake audit activity for the MEL section
Communicate with service users in a professional manner, reacting to requests for assistance and refining non routine requests to MEL senior staff
Ensures that MEL documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner
Liaise with and advise Portering staff who cover the service out of hours
Monitoring contamination status of returned equipment and taking appropriate action
To undertake any training required in order to maintain competency including mandatory training E.g., Manual Handling.

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and attributes:



Be able to Manage and prioritising work to ensure deadlines are met.
Have Willingness to undertake additional and on-going training
Must have excellent communication skills as well as being flexible & adaptable
Ideally have a level 2 in engineering
