Our client, one of the UK's leading World Food distributors located in East London, is currently looking to recruit an experienced HR Manager to join their established and expanding team on a permanent basis.
You will be working Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm for an annual salary of £36-£40K DOE.
The successful HR Manager will...
* Provide full generalist support.
* Be responsible for the monthly and fortnightly payrolls.
* Develop, review and update HR policies, procedures and contracts/Employee Handbook in accordance with changes in legislation and best practice.
* Be familiar with and update as appropriate, rules relating to GDPR.
* Manage disciplinary and grievance cases including ensuring compliance with procedures, current best practice and legislation.
* Maintain personnel and training records.
* Act as an advisor to management on staffing and employee relations, including absence.
* Take the lead on recruitment and selection; negotiating with agencies, finding alternative solutions to recruitment as appropriate and preparing Job Descriptions and referencing.
* To add to the portfolio of agencies supplying warehouse workers for London base and Milton Keynes.
* Adhere to Home Office guidelines in respect of conducting right to work checks.
* Maintain and ensure accuracy of the clocking-in system, relating to hours worked, holidays and absences.
* Organise onboarding, inductions and off-boarding.
* Champion work experience students from oversees.
* Working with the Health & Safety Manager to update and augment policies and procedures relating to health & safety.
* Take on Ad hoc projects as appropriate.
HR Manager Person Specification
* Proven HR generalist experience.
* Working knowledge of Sage 50 payroll - ESSENTIAL.
* Be CIPD qualified or relevant HR qualification/experience with a thorough, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law.
* Excellent administrative and organisation skills.
* Be resilient, flexible and proactive.
* Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
