Design Engineer
Margate
£30,000-£45,000 DOE
Our client, a global manufacturing company based in Margate, is currently looking to recruit a Design Engineer to work on permanent basis.
Working on shifts on a Monday-Friday basis, this role will be paying an annual salary of £30,000-£45,000 depending on experience.
As the Design Engineer, you willâ¦
* Evaluate existing products for re-design based on issues raised by customers, vendors or internal team.
* Assess functions to determine whether new product would enhance existing product line or provide additional function for customers.
* Collect data on products through reports, testing and customer information.
* This function also conducts product benchmarking and new technology exploration/development.
* Utilise computer aided engineering, analytical, and sophisticated instrumentation technology to assist in the development of company products.
* Coordinate activities surrounding line or range of products, following product from design through production.
* Organise activities to implement new product introductions.
* Develop project timelines and product cost comparisons, select materials, commercial parts and technical data.
* Produce designs, complex layouts, assemblies, detail parts drawings and generate associated bills of material.
* Specify product testing. Follow up appropriately in correcting errors.
* Other responsibilities as assigned or required.
Person Specification:
* Experience with engineering of industrial products is essential
* Computer skills including Microsoft Office
* Fluid transfer equipment experience - ideal but not essential
* Field engineering experience - ideal but not essential
* SAP or other ERP systems experience - ideal but not essential
* Computer aided drafting experience (Autodesk AutoCAD & Inventor a plus) - ideal but not essential
* Project management experience - ideal but not essential
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ME and/or EE) or equivalent international degrees) is essential
