Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Technician
Contracted Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours (Monday-Friday between 8:00am-4:00pm and one week in 4 on-call) Overtime: Out of hours, Weekends & Bank Holidays as required
Salary: Circa Up to £32,000 + on call allowance
Location: William Harvey Hospital (Travel to other sites will be required)
Driving License: Essential

What does the role look like?


As part of our team at the William Harvey Hospital, your role will involve the repair, maintenance and management of all Mechanical, Electrical and Building Services, along with the direct management of staff. The main function of this post is to assist management and other Trades in the performance of their duties at the relevant site. The role requires an in depth knowledge of electrical systems and this will be underpinned by a qualification in an electrical discipline.


Key responsibilities will include:




Act as a group member deploying staff, requisitioning stores, materials and transport, and arranging for security of stores and materials.
Use computer software to produce reports, documents and drawings and take responsibility for the operation of various information systems & ensure effective implementation of the CAFM system
Raise computerised requests for maintenance works, (Defects and Planned Preventative Maintenance), allocating tasks to engineers accordingly
Ensure patient needs are prioritised to benefit and enhance their experience at all times.
Managing issues related to staff, resources, discipline and efficiency of the Technical Solutions workforce
Project management of delegated projects within time and budget constraints.
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Executive and Department of Health guidelines at all times.
Personal responsibility for ensuring team adherence to statutory policies on Health & Safety, Risk Management, Confidentiality and Data Protection
Managing and Daily running of a PPM regime.


About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate:



Have served a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship/Hold a City and Guilds/ONC/HNC qualification
Worked in the Engineering & Maintenance sector
Adaptable to change with a can do attitude
Understanding & knowledge of BMS Systems
Desirably AP Qualified in HTM 06-02 Electrical Low voltage & HTM02 Medical Gases (appropriate training will be given to the successful candidate)
Excellent knowledge of statutory requirements
CAFM management system experience
Good communication & leadership skills
Previous experience of direct supervision and performance management to set targets
