Production Line Engineer



My client, a renowned company within the Medical Industry, are looking for a Production Line Engineer to join the Crawley based team.



SUMMARY OF THE ROLE



Responsible for the running, maintenance and improvements of automated machinery, ensuring the required product specification is understood and met, the performance and safety of the manufacturing equipment in line with company KPI's and strategic projects. To ensure achievement of hourly/daily targets for the completion of the customer schedule in the most cost-effective manner.



To monitor and understand performance and recommend actions where necessary in the pursuit of constantly seeking to improve the performance of the machine to achieve the business KPI's of scrap and throughput are matched and or improved.







MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Setting and Running of the machine



* Responsibility to adhere to the Companies Health and Safety policy at all times and operate and promote the development of quality standards and procedures taking ownership of tasks and to seek new improved ways of doing things.
* Responsibility and accountability for all aspects of machine performance and safety.
* The ability to set and operate and run the equipment.
* Active involvement within the Lean Teams and other performance-focused groups as required, including completion of allocated actions.
* Ensuring availability of good quality tooling on every machine and process.
* Effective communication via Engineering logs, shift handovers and direct interaction with the manufacturing teams.
* Compliance of all Company' WIs (standard operating procedures) and regulatory requirements through implementation of best practice techniques.
* Liaison with Engineering/QA/R&D to ensure best practice and reduce downtime and or quality issues.
* Liaison with Operations Supervision and Production Control to ensure compliance to schedule.
* Effective communication at all levels both verbally and on any written documentation e.g. shift handovers.
* Training and assessment of Trainee and Machine Setter Operators and Machine Setters.
* Lean and CI Champion and facilitating process teams to drive out inefficiencies on the automated process.
* Understanding machine performance and working with others to suggest and deliver improvements (scrap, throughput, downtime and utilisation).
* Accountability and responsibility of progress monitoring and reporting current manufacturing position against plan across the Cell.
* Accountability and responsibility for the quality of product that is produced on the automated machines.
* As part of an NCR and/or CAPA team the Production Line Technician will be responsible for investigation and validation works ensuring the most effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
* Responsible for the effective completion of Equipment risk assessments.







Maintenance and Improvements functions of the machine

Effective maintenance and completion of Asset Care programme

Completion of Planned Maintenance programme

Completion of conditional monitoring programme

Upkeep and review of Plant History Logs

Ownership of Total Productive Maintenance techniques

Responsibility for Continuous improvement



Ideally applicants will be qualified to HNC level or equivalent and have good experience within a Production environment. Excellent experience with Machinery maintenance and fault finding will also be required.





2 shifts currently available

4 on 4 off 6am - 6pm

Or late shift Monday - Thursday 2pm - Midnight



Location: Crawley



Salary: Competitive
