I am currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join a Manufacturing company based near Ramsgate, Kent.

You purpose will be to keep on site electrical equipment and systems running safely and efficiently. Production and manufacturing equipment will take priority over other areas of the site. Responsible for all planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and reactive breakdowns.

Installation of New Electrical Systems

Responsibility for installing new or refurbished equipment for the production plant, and other on site operations. Run tests to ensure that new machinery is ready to be implemented and work out any issues before the equipment is used on a daily basis.

Troubleshoot Problems with Electrical Equipment

To determine the cause of any electrical issues on site. Knowledgeable in troubleshooting problems with various types of equipment, such as hydraulic or robotic systems, and understand why equipment is not working properly.

Repair and Maintain Existing Equipment

Once a problem has been identified, use tools and replacement parts to make repairs to plant and equipment. Conduct regularly-scheduled maintenance on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis to keep machines running at they are intended and to avoid any down-time due to break-downs or improper operations.

Maintain Repair and Maintenance Logs and Records

Create and manage reports pertaining to the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment as required. This is crucial information to determine when machines need to be upgraded or replaced, to ensure the recording of ongoing issues or show that machines have been properly maintained.

Person Specification

The Electrical Engineer will have an Industrial/Manufacturing background, with experience of a plant environment with large capacity machines and 3 phase and single-phase distribution systems. With the ability to work on motor switch equipment and control panels, an 18th edition certification is essential together with an electrical city & guilds/apprenticeship qualification.

A good understanding and record of working to Health and Safety rules and regulations the Engineer must be comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights. Able to work well under pressure and to strict time deadlines. A flexible team approach with good communication skills.

The shift patterns are:

6am - 2pm Mon-Thurs

6am - 1pm Friday



2pm - 10pm Mon-Thurs

1pm - 8pm Friday
