We are currently recruiting for a key manufacturing client in Ashford (non-food) for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join the team.

The emphasis with this one is we are ideally looking for approximately a 60/40 split in favour of electrical engineering.
The role is within a fast paced manufacturing team where the main purpose of the role is to provide a high standard of maintenance throughout the production areas, to include planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities for all manufacturing equipment to ensure that delivery schedules, production volumes and quality, cost and safety outcomes, are always achieved.
This will include working on filing machines, labellers and supporting equipment, plus responding to any emergency machine breakdowns on site.
Experience:
We are looking for a proactive individual with experience of working within an Engineering team in a high volume manufacturing environment with experience of PLC (programmable logistic controller) equipment.
Someone with experience of working on a wide range of production and manufacturing machines with demonstrable engineering reasoning and problem solving skills.
Education:
Looking for Level 3 City & Guilds as a minimum, Apprenticeships etc.
12 – 24 months + experience working in a relevant manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities we are seeking:
Sound decision making skills.
Great communication skill with the ability to maintain effective, friendly contact with internal colleagues, suppliers and contractors.
A systematic approach to problem solving.
Work well with low level supervision.
Working knowledge of relevant H & S
Experience of mechanical and pneumatic machinery
The position will include but is not limited to:
Completion of PPM
Always ensuring machinery is safe and fit for purpose
The installation of new machinery and equipment when required
Overhauling all plant machinery and facilities implementing opportunities to enhance performance and optimisation the use of resources
Work with and fault find ion single phase/three phase electrical circuits
Work with and co-ordinate contractors
Undertake repairs and servicing to high standards in accordance with work order and pre-determined specifications ensuring the regulatory, quality, health & safety standards are met at all times.
Fault finding, testing and removal or adjustments of existing fittings, fixtures and parts.
Keeping management and relevant departments aware and seek advice or assistance when required
Attend training and continuous improvement opportunities as required
Maintaining a culture of prevention rather than cure.
Absolute support for manufacturing.
Shift Pattern:
Double days: week 1: 6am - 2pm then week 2: 2pm – 10pm Monday to Friday
