The University of Kent Academies Trust is seeking to appoint an energetic, passionate, strategic ICT thinker to the pivotal role of UKAT Director of ICT Strategy, Systems & Services. This person needs to be academically qualified, experienced, self-motivated and possess excellent interpersonal problem-solving skills and abilities. The post holder will be working in an innovative environment alongside our UKAT staff, students and community members.

ICT is at the heart of our vision for inspiring learning for all our stakeholders and ensuring our organisation is at the forefront of technological developments: to deliver a high-quality business environment which is efficient and effective.

The post holder will have overall responsibility for developing our ICT Strategy in conjunction with the CEO and other leadership post holders. The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of ICT strategy and development across the Trust and will lead, manage and direct the teams of ICT staff that work across the Trust.

The University of Kent Academies Trust currently has two sites – Brompton Academy, a modern academy with excellent ICT infrastructure based on Apple technologies, and Chatham Grammar with an older MS Windows environment. All students and staff are equipped with iPads/Mac Books and laptops for learning.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing teams and developing and implementing a coherent and detailed strategic ICT plan. UKAT investment in ICT has been considerable and we need to sustain and build new futures. Industry recognised ICT qualifications are essential together with a management qualification, or proven management experience. Experience of working in an education environment is desirable.
