Full Time (37 hours per week)


Canterbury Christ Church University has embarked on an ambitious high profile programme of work to modernise our student information, by delivering relevant information in a modern personalised way to both students and staff.


The aims of the programme are to:


• Replace the existing Student Record System with SITS: Vision
• Deliver efficient and streamlined processes and new ways of working
• Significantly improved the user experience for staff and students
• Improve the University’s handling and management of student data


This is an exciting, fast-paced programme of change, so we are looking for someone who has enthusiasm, resilience, professionalism and energy. We are looking for a pro-active Data Officer to assist with the data input to the new student records system.


This role will work as part of the MOSI Team, reporting to the Core Data Workstream Lead. They will collect data from approval documents and ensure course set-up is accurate and ensure data in the system is of high quality.


They will collaborate with key stakeholders in the business to improve our understanding of how data should be structured in order for the system to work effectively for the benefit of students and staff.


This role will work alongside others in the team as well as in the wider University to resolve any issues. They will independently investigate and resolve small scale issues and proactively escalate any that require more senior/expert support.


You will be qualified to A-level standard as a minimum, or have relevant professional qualifications, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of the Higher Education sector is desired, and the post-holder will be familiar with working with diverse stakeholders. They will have an analytical, creative and innovative approach to problem solving. They will train to work with the student records database, interrogating the data and have a commitment to data quality and accuracy. They will be solution-focused, with a strong work ethic, and be able to work to tight deadlines, balancing competing priorities within a busy environment. They will have a confident communication style in both written and verbal form and be able to explain technical concepts and principals to non-technical audiences.


Additional Information


There will be a requirement to demonstrate a flexible approach to work, which may include working to tight deadlines to ensure continuity of delivery, or undertaking such other duties as may be required.


This is a fixed term role until 29th October 2021 with a possibility of further extension subject to funding.
