Are you passionate about providing information, guidance and advice to the University on the management and use of student and student-related data in relation to statutory and regulatory requirements?
If so, we are looking to appoint a new full time Head of Student Data Compliance on an ongoing basis.
The role of ensuring good quality and well governed student data is critical to support regulatory and statutory compliance and underpins the production of accurate management information. This enables decision-making/planning processes across the University to successfully meet institutional and sector-wide challenges, both current and future. You will need to command high stakeholder confidence in order to advise/influence the development of the student record system, the structure of provision within the portfolio and the development of core central student administration processes to ensure that business needs are met within the framework of statutory compliance.
As Head of Student Data Compliance you will:
- lead on the production and submission of statutory student returns (including HESA Student Records, Aggregate Offshore and Provider Profile)
- provide informed advice, guidance and training on sector (i.e. OfS, HESA) rules, policies and initiatives
- lead and manage the Data Quality team (recruitment, induction, development and training)
- manage the checking and submission of the National Student Survey (NSS) population file to IPSOS MORI
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- experience of Student Statutory Reporting in Higher Education
- proficiency in the planning, organising, resourcing, and monitoring of ongoing jobs and projects
- a high degree of computer literacy including the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- experience in the leadership, management and motivation of staff
The Student Data Compliance team supports institutional strategic planning and performance through managing the governance of student data, ensuring compliance with student statutory reporting obligations through the preparation and completion of student statutory returns such as HESA and HESES, and managing the maintenance and reporting of information to the Student Loans Company. This remit also involves maintaining strong working relationships with our joint entities and partner institutions, managing secure data transactions and ensuring timely provision of high quality data.
