Product and Purchasing Manager
Maidstone
£35-40k DOE
Rare opportunity for an experienced and knowledgeable Product and Purchasing Manager to join my client, a manufacturing company based in Mid Kent. For this role I am looking for someone with a background within Joinery - this is a pre-requisite for the role.
This is a really exciting chance for someone to make a real impact on the success and growth of a business in a time of expansion.
The role consists of:
* Working with senior management to create and implement a supply chain strategy which maximises profit in all markets including overseas
* Setting up processes and procedures, negotiating contracts
* Ensuring that demand is met in a timely fashion with materials providing value for money
* Travelling to meet suppliers including at short notice and overseas
* Pre-empting problems and ensuring they are dealt with
* Taking ownership of quality control
* Managing and monitoring supplier performance
* Data analysis and reporting
* Any other duties as required
To be considered for this Product and Purchasing Manager role you will have/be:
* Educated to degree level with a 2:1 or above in a related subject
* Strong Supply Chain Management experience working within joinery - this is essential
* The ability to assimilate technical information
* Numerate and able to analyse data effectively
* Experienced in setting up processes
* First class interpersonal skills
* A great negotiator
* Able to spot an opportunity
* A strong strategist, with a hands-on style of working
* A proven track record in cost saving
You will be joining a business with a global presence who are expanding due to success! This Supply Chain Manager role offers a competitive salary dependent on experience as well as bonus and benefit opportunities.
