Are you passionate about helping children reach their full potential?

We’re looking a confident, organised and proactive person to join our established team delivering Children & Young People services across the South East. You will be working with both Young Carers and children and young people with mild to moderate disabilities in the Dover district.
You will manage an existing caseload and new referrals, meeting families and young people in their own homes and in schools to complete assessments and care plans.

Using the Young Carer service toolkit, you will provide short-term interventions to support Young Carers to improve their resilience, educational chances and wellbeing. This might include signposting to local and community services, action planning, one-to-one support, respite activities or our 12-month workshop programme, as well as making referrals to a range of professionals, including health and social care, ensuring whole family needs are met and reducing the impact of caring on the young person.

You will also deliver the Short Breaks programme of after school café-style groups (8-15 years), Saturday Clubs (15-19 years) and school holiday trips for children and young people with disabilities. You will plan, organise and risk assess group activities that support personal development, and promote independence, community engagement and social activities. We want the young people taking part to have opportunities to try new things, make friends and have fun!

You will schedule your time to ensure to meet targets and complete tasks to a high standard across both services. It is expected that you will keep excellent records and keep in regular communication with families to build trusted relationships. You will respond to challenging and complex situations in line with our Safeguarding and Lone Working Policies.

A key aspect of this role is to raise awareness and promote the service so you will attend events, meet with professionals, deliver presentations and develop wider networks.

This role involves evening and weekend work and requires the applicant to hold a full driving licence and their own car. You will also be expected to drive a minibus and full training will be provided.

Join us and make a difference.
