About us: Porchlight is a charity supporting people who are homeless, vulnerable and isolated. At Porchlight, we are passionate about helping vulnerable people to reach their full potential. We strive for a fairer society where vulnerable people find stability, the most excluded are included, and where homelessness and poverty are things of the past.

The role: This is a challenging but rewarding role, supporting individuals that sleep rough on the streets of Kent, many of whom are entrenched, have complex support needs and have a history of non-engagement. You will assist with issues that may have led to the breakdown of previous accommodation, as well as signposting to other agencies for help with needs that are more complex.

What you need:

A patient, compassionate understanding of individuals who have spent many years on the street and who may find it difficult to engage with mainstream services.

Excellent communication, administrative and negotiation skills. Enjoy working both as part of a busy team and independently within the community. A passion for working in a client focused manner and be committed to achieving positive outcomes for the people you support. An ability to set clear goals and boundaries to empower clients identify with and reach their full potential. A high level of resilience and the ability to work under sustained pressure.
