The ASPIRE Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of the ASPIRE project. The role requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills and thorough administrative experience. You should be highly organised and able to use your own initiative to ensure the ASPIRE Project is delivered to the highest standards.

About ASPIRE…

ASPIRE is an innovative project being run in southern England and northern France until 2023 with the aim of tackling the joint problems of obesity and unemployment in a holistic way. There is a link between the two – the longer someone is unemployed, the more likely they are to have problems with their weight and vice versa – and ASPIRE is piloting a model to help people live healthier lives and increase their employability skills. Dover District Council, Your Leisure Ltd, Kent County Council and Kent Community NHS Health Foundation Trust are working with Bechange in Aylesham to create one of the three UK ASPIRE hubs.

The project will follow a ‘grow your own, eat your own, sell your own’ ethos and we will be creating a kitchen garden and orchard, helping people to build up their job skills and improve their overall health and wellbeing. Other services, such as NHS One You, Wellbeing People, local businesses and other agencies, will also help those taking part to achieve their goals, whether these are to lose weight, learn new skills, to eat healthily on a budget, to do some voluntary work, to improve their CV or even to start up a small business.
