We\'re Canterbury Oast Trust, based just outside of Ashford in the village of Woodchurch, We provide long-term accommodation and high quality care for residents and tenants, in small family style homes within Kent and East Sussex. We support our service users and tenants to live the lives they choose through independence, dignity, choice and achievement.

We are seeking to recruit additional support workers; people with the right values and attitude to join our team of Flexi (Casual) Support Workers.

Our priority for this role is to find people with the right attitude and behaviours that match our own! Whilst experience and a Care Certificate would be beneficial it is not essential as we are happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker.

Above all we are looking for a support worker that:

THE ROLE

This role of Support Worker is being offered on a Casual (Flexi) Contract whereby you will be offered ad hoc shifts to compliment our team of support workers within our Residential and Community Support Services based at Aldington, Ashford, New Romney, Rye and Woodchurch. You will support the needs of our service users and tenants.

As a Support Worker you will assist our service users in every aspect of their daily lives, including some personal care. Through a person-centred approach you will enable them to feel valued, reach their potential and nurture their aspirations.

ABOUT YOU

In addition to having the right attitude, values and behaviours as a Support Worker you will ideally have:

o A good standard of written and spoken English - for effective communication, maintaining accurate plans, up to date record keeping and reading medication
o A good standard of numeracy (incl. calculations, measurements) - for recording fluid intakes and outputs and counting medication
o A good standard of computer skills - for updating handover notes, care plans, risk assessments, emails and recording of necessary paperwork for service users
o A good level of Employability skills - for prioritising workloads and adapting to changing demands


ELIGIBILITY

All appointments are subject to:

o Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
o An enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service
o Two satisfactory references (one of which must be from your current or most recent employer)
o A full detailed employment history
o A full manual driving licence - held for at least 1 year and be 21 or over
