Through continued company expansion, a number of production based positions have arisen at a leading UK manufacturer in the pet food industry, specialising in creating suet based products for feeding wild birds. The company has over 25 years’ experience as a leading innovator within the industry with its design, development and core manufacturing business based at its extensive site in Kent.


The production operative will act in support of the Supervisor, machine minder, or runner. Their role is to assist and carry out instructions in line with the day’s productions requirements.

Responsibilities & Duties
• Work under the guidance of Supervisor, follow instructions from the machine minder to perform and complete the assigned duties in timely manner
• Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing
• Clean the equipment when required, operating a clean as you go policy
• Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation
• Ensure production on the line is performed as per training provided to meet the right quality standards
• Identify and report unsafe operations to Supervisor, Deputy Supervisor, machine minder immediately
• Maintain the work area clean, safe and organised
• Complete any required documentation as required, follow QC and QA polices at all times
• Complete any other task as required by the Supervisor
• Follow company policies and procedures, and adhere to safety standards

Compliance
• Maintain a full understanding of the legal requirements required within the departments and also within the business to be able to operate with full legal compliance
• Personally, comply with all policies, procedures and risk assessments relevant to role and responsibilities
