Post Title: Fire Alarm Engineer
Reporting To: Operations Manager - Fire
Main Areas of Responsibility
To install, commission, service and fault find Metroline Security's fire systems on customer premises.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Awareness and Compliance with code of practice and industry regulations.
Ensure wiring duties meet with BS 5839 Part 1, Part 6 and BS 7671 (wiring regulations).
Ensure all fire alarm systems are BAFE compliant.
Installation of wired and wireless fire alarm systems, in line with specification, drawings and current regulations
Programming of systems to ensure fully operational.
Fault diagnosis of existing systems where testing of electrical connections will be required.
Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements as detailed within Metroline’s health and safety management system, risk assessments and method statements.
Use of mobile device to receive, update and communicate all tasks assigned to job holder.
Ensure company vehicle is kept clean, tidy and presentable at all times and in line with Metroline’s fleet requirements.
Wear and maintain all issued uniform clothing ensuring that it is clean and presentable at all times.
Attend all mandatory training (Health & Safety, Fire, Asbestos, Working at Height etc) that has been arranged.
Be responsible for keeping up dated on changes in industry for working with electricity to maintain competence.
General Duties
Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards customers, colleagues and third parties at all times and undertake all tasks as appropriate.
To work at all times in accordance with Metroline’s policies, procedures and ethos.
Salary: As per individual contracts of employment and dependent on experience or qualifications.
Hours: 45 hours per week. Overtime available if desired.
Work base: Field-based (predominantly East Kent) from Metroline Security head office, Unit 2, Channel Court, Ross Way, Folkestone, CT20 3UJ
Additional: Company vehicle & Company phone for business purposes.
