Health Centre School Nurse (Band 6) Various hours contract, required January 2022 or sooner.
Based in the stunning setting of the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey, a World Heritage Site, The King’s School is one of the oldest and most prestigious Schools in the country with an enviable record of academic excellence and achievement.
This role is looking for Nurses to work on a various hours contract subject to shift availability. The Health Centre School Nurse will be required to contribute to the provision of healthcare for all pupils, plus first aid treatment to all members of the School community which is provided over a 24-hour period, 7 days a week during term time.
Reporting to the Senior Nurse and Health Centre Manager, key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing medical services to all pupils, members of staff and any school visitors on site; Ensuring availability for pupil consultations over the 24-hour period; Providing confidential support to pupils and staff and other health advice as appropriate; Promoting health education throughout the school population; Providing and offering education on sexual health matters; Maintaining accurate, confidential and contemporaneous medical records.
This role would be suitable for a qualified experienced Nurse, who is happy to initially work under a flexible arrangement, whereby they could be called upon at short notice to cover shifts within our Health Centre. The King’s School wishes to build its own bank of nursing professionals who are fully inducted and trained into the routines of the School Health Centre and who are flexible in their availability to cover shifts from time to time.
The King’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undertake a DBS check before commencement of employment can be confirmed.
