Purpose:

The Marketing and Communications Officer (MCO) will take on the tactical duties of the team, organising and implementing marketing campaigns as instructed, engaging with suppliers to communicate marketing briefs, order materials and raise purchase orders. The post holder will also take on creative duties such as writing copy for blogs and social media posts and exploiting opportunities to maximise PR.

As a key member of the Team the MCO will support both the Marketing Manager and the Communications Manager to implement and embed the Marketing Plan and Communications Plan. The MCO will amplify marketing and communications activity through strengthening key external partnerships and being proactive in finding and facilitating positive customer exposure, and internal colleague engagement.

The post holder will also help maintain relationships with tourism partners, marketing agencies, charity and sponsorship partners and any other marketing suppliers as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

Organise, implement and be responsible for the organisation of all marketing campaigns, as instructed by the Marketing Manager
Assist in central marketing campaigns as instructed by the Marketing Manager
Order promotional materials including printed literature and marketing merchandise
Manage the payment of marketing spend by raising purchase orders
Create website campaign pages on the Stagecoach website and keep them up-to-date
Create and schedule marketing and promotional posts using social media management applications
Seek joint marketing opportunities, such as competitions, joint PR exercises, etc.
Assist the Communications Manager with the organisation of sponsorship and PR opportunities·
Seek to exploit internal initiatives for PR purposes
Write engaging copy for website content, blogs, social media etc.
Support the customer response ‘Help Hub’ team with customer queries as and when required
Any other activity as reasonably requested by the company Directors, Marketing Manager and Communications Manager

Some background or qualification in marketing and/or communications

Exceptional communicator and relationship-builder who generates confidence in colleagues, members of the public and external business stakeholders
