I am working with a well-established manufacturing company who manufacture and distribute compounds in the UK, Europe and worldwide.
They are looking for a customer service assistant to join the team.
The team is currently made up of 6 people and the purpose of the customer service account manager role is to provide an excellent customer-first service and provide high value solutions to customer on time and every time.
Day to day duties of a customer service assistant include:
To provide a professional first point of contact for all customers making contact through inbound calls to head office or contact via the sales email account.
Process all enquiries and orders from customers ensuring these are handled promptly and efficiently from initial enquiry and receipt of order to final despatch of goods.
To provide basic support to current customers. To include amending deliveries, revising schedules and communication of current order status
To receive and check accuracy of customer PO's to ensure the correct details (to include product, customer, delivery details, company reg no. and packaging) are in place and the price is approved prior to the manufacturing of the material.
Raises sales orders and passes to Credit Control in a timely manner
To ensure assigned customers are kept up to date with the status of their orders using the external sales team where required
Inputs CMR’s from the wider team when submitted on the correct form
Inputs complaints as requested by Directors, inputs complaints from the external sales team only when requested by the Sales Director
Responsibility for updating the safety stock management report
Notify the Stock and Logistics Controller and Production Planner of new orders received in order that stock availability can be checked before the sales contract is raised
Attends the daily transport meeting and follows up with either the sales representative or the customer directly, as appropriate
Monitor the allocation of stock for customer orders.
Ensures cover is in place prior to accepting or committing to any sales activity, places the administrative functions as a priority prior to commencing any sales activity
Understands the critical role the above Administrative duties hold within the business, ensuring all functions are in good order prior to engaging customers and conducting sales activity
Experience and skills required for the Customer Service Assistant:
• Understands procedures relating to raising customer orders, customer sales contracts, credit control and stock management
• Develops and enhances their knowledge of the product range and how changes to ongoing supply may impact product availability and pricing
• 3 to 5 years customer service experience
• Work well within a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
