Barker Munro recruitment is assisting a busy Insurance claims organisation to recruit a Junior Litigator to join their Claims team.

The key purpose of the role to handle the conduct of litigation of claims arising under Motor and Household policies, liaising with insurers, their policyholders, third parties and suppliers, as necessary. You will be required to maintain the portfolio in an efficient manner to ensure that you are working effectively and delivering a market leading litigation service with excellent customer service.

The role will require you to:
o Manage your own case load under supervision

o Review documents and advise on liability, quantum, and strategy

o Conduct investigations including document searches

o Carry out legal research

o Instruct experts and counsel as required, or refer to the Head of Legal as appropriate

o Draft pleadings, applications, instructions and statements

o Attend court as necessary

This role will offer hybrid working splitting the week between home and the office.

Relevant legal qualifications preferred, including a law degree and/or legal practice course and/or ILEX. We are hoping to receive applications from individuals with some exposure to handling litigation, preferably within the insurance sector.
