Senior Cyber Security Engineer - £500-£650 a day + remote working
Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a highly regarded Managed Service Provider for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to provide technical support for security systems for the Business and its customers. The role will require you to carry out large scale complex system enhancements and lead on the delivery of large-scale projects, co-ordinating priorities and resources for junior members of staff.
They are dynamic and agile built on a new service culture based on 4 key principles; fast, connected, insight driven, and customer led.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Monitor the applications and compliances of security operations procedures and reports on non-compliance.
* Draft and maintain policy, standards, procedures and documentation for security administration, taking account of current best practice, legislation and regulation.
* Advises on, and assists with the assessment of the potential impact on existing access security mechanisms of specific planned technical changes, in order to help ensure that potential compromise or weakening of existing security controls is minimised.
* Own and facilitate the evaluation, testing and implementation of such changes.
* Provides training, guidance and support is provided to other security administrators, in all aspects of security policy and control.
* Ensures that any system changes required to maintain security are implemented, including monitoring of changes carried out by others.
* At all times, undertakes to bring to the attention of management any actual or potential breaches in security.
* Uses network management systems software and appropriate analysis equipment to collect routine network load statistics.
* Investigates and diagnoses complex high impact network problems, working with users, other staff and suppliers as appropriate.
* Develop standards, procedures and tools, and carries out large scale high impact tasks associated with the planning, installation, upgrade, operation, control and maintenance of security systems and services.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* A proven track record of a senior position in security administration and operations or related Service Delivery function working in a centralised team.
* Proven experience of perimeter security architecture and proven experience of complex security design and implementation, including end point control i.e. Anti-virus and remote access solutions.
* Project delivery of large scale high impact projects, with experience of managing multiple contractors.
* Production of procedural documentation and its use.
* Relevant ICT industry recognised qualification to advanced level or equivalent experience.
* ITIL Foundation.
* Expert knowledge of the Firewall architecture, support and management
Package:
* Day rate of £500-£650 per day depending on experience
