Hours: Upto 19 hours per week (Days, Evenings and Weekends) + Cover – Permanent

Job Description:

A Female Carer (Personal Assistant) is required for an outgoing, sociable and friendly 50 year old disabled lady who is wheelchair bound. As my Personal Assistant (Care) you will be required to help and assist in a range of care needs including; Personal Care, Domestic Tasks & Social Time. I receive 24 hour care with a team of five PA's (Care) and this position is for daytime/evenings and weekends.

The position is for upto 26 hours per week – Days’ and hours can be negotiated.

Additional hours will be available as you will have the opportunity to cover my other carers for holiday and sickness.

We have two dogs so you must be comfortable with dogs.

Qualifications/Experience:

· Previous experience within a caring role (hospital, care home, nursing home etc)

· Delivering one to one personal care is essential

· Experience of dealing with mental health is desirable but not essential

· Full driving licence is essential as you will be using my adapted vehicle when required

. Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and have proof of this

Responsibilities:

Routine:

· Changing catheter bags and bed pads

· Carrying out my personal care as required

· Applying any medication and clinical dressings as required

.Preparing meals as required

. Additional Tasks

· Wash and change bedding as required

· Ironing

· Taking me to hospital or doctors for my appointments (Using my adapted vehicle) if necessary

· On occasions, accompany me to the cinema, social events, theatre or a concert as required.

Personal Qualities:

· Outgoing, confident, thoughtful and resourceful

· Excellent communication skills with an inquisitive and enquiring nature

· A naturally caring person with experience as a carer (or qualified as a carer and looking for first position)

· Must be able to think on own initiative whilst being organised and committed

· Helpful and willing to put a hand to anything within reason

· Willing to learn and attend additional training if requested
