About the role:
Our Aylesford, Kent site is currently looking for a methodical Materials Technologist to join our Quality team reporting into the Material Development and Laboratory Manager.

Responsible for testing and inspecting materials in line with standards, the jobholder will undertake their daily core activities either in the laboratory or the shop floor working environment.

We are looking to attract candidates who have previous work experience within a quality assurance, laboratory, or plastics manufacturing background.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• To provide an analytical service and support of all raw materials
• Responsible for the quality of all raw materials to ensure testing is completed to an agreed standard and records maintained
• Investigate causes of material failure and report findings to colleagues.
• Support and Create improvements in all material waste circuits and reprocessed material utilisation

Person Specification:
Our ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, experience, skillset and behaviours:
• Good technology skills
• Proven experience in a laboratory environment
• Specific knowledge in the analysis of polymers (DSC, IR, TGA etc)
• Confident working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
• Organised with the ability to plan and prioritise different tasks.
• Ability to build good relationships both internally and externally
• Methodical in approach with keen attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Enthusiasm to learn and develop

Shifts: 8 hours Monday to Thursday and a 6 hour day on Fridays.
Salary: £26,500 - £27,500 per annum (Band 5)
