Product Design Engineer

We are working with a leading manufacturing business who have been established for nearly 50 years offering a niche product range who are seeking a New Product Design Engineer to join their growing business.

This individual needs to come from a manufacturing/product background and hold a relevant industry qualification or degree.

Spearheaded by an innovative, forward-thinking MD, they look to employ like minded individuals who have a drive to succeed and been integral in the success of their business.

Duties
*Working closely with the head of department and wider product development team to design and develop products from concept visuals to prototype and production.
*Produce accurate and detailed 3D models of the products through the use of Solidworks to generate drawings for manufacture, prototype, and rendered images as required.
*3D printing and prototyping knowledge useful but not essential.
*Internal recording in the product database of the jobs
*Liaise with manufacturers and internal staff to ensure a smooth flow of the product development and projects dealing with any issues or queries as they arise.
*Driving key new product projects forward to a given target date and budget.

Requirements
*Qualified in industrial/product/furniture or similar design to degree level or equivalent design engineering qualifications.
*Minimum 1 years' experience producing detailed drawings for manufacture.
*Ideally has some experience in furniture design, but not essential.
*Excellent technical and engineering experience
*Excellent experience of CAD packages - Solidworks (essential) Fusion 360 & Autodesk Inventor (advantageous)
*Proficient experience in CGI software (Solidworks Visualize)
*Good understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes.
*Rotational or injection moulding knowledge an advantage.
