Role: Production Supervisor
Location: Snodland
Salary: £40,000pa - £45,000pa
My client, an international leading manufacturing company based in Snodland is looking for an experienced Plant Operational Leader to join their rapidly expanding team.
As the Production Supervisor / Superintendent, you will oversee all day-to-day operations of Stock Preparation, Fibre Recovery, PM9, and the winder. You will also develop close working relationships with the 5 shift managers and their crews, ensuring an educated, motivated, and highly trained workforce is maintained at all times.
Working closely with a number of departments including liaising with the Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Engineering Manager, and Shift Managers to provide Quality Assurance, good cost control as well as delivering site compliance requirements throughout the production department whilst also acting as a key member of the call-out team for any operational problems.
Your role will include:
- To be a proactive member of the site Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) team by ensuring safety concerns are reported, communicated, and actioned through the Company safety system. Also by active supervision of the Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy and by ensuring Company action plans are adhered to
- To manage production consumables including the ordering and stock management of all wires and felts
- To carry out risk assessments, safe systems of work, workplace inspections/audits and to issue permits to work where trained and authorised to do so
- To work with Shift Managers to manage personnel situations which may include the use of the Company's formal discipline and grievance procedures
- To work in conjunction with Shift Managers to create a training programme for Operators to
ensure adequate cover for sickness, leavers and retirees is always maintained
- To ensure that Operational/health and safety/environmental and quality incidents are reported promptly and correctly and investigated thoroughly by leading suitable improvements teams
- To produce, update and maintain training manuals for all production positions and to carry out relevant training operators in key skills, such as the use of trucks and cranes
The ideal candidate:
- Will accept additional education and training as deemed necessary, as a result of new equipment and changes in technology, in order to continue satisfactorily carrying out the role
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Team player but also confident to work individually when necessary
