Group Accountant | Home Working (Kent) | 55-62k + package
Our client, an acquisitive, UK wide financial services business, are looking to appoint a Group Accountant to take responsibility for supporting the Head of Group Reporting & Accounts in the production and analysis of all Group Consolidations and Interim Financial Statements.
Employees are currently home working, meeting up once a month or as needed in the Kent offices.
Areas of responsibility:
Monthly reporting
• Prepare monthly reporting for inclusion in the external reporting pack and report upon variances
• Assistance with acquisition and disposal accounting / business transfer reviews including necessary consolidation entries. Cross check
acquisition accounting to technical advice and PPA reports
• Intangibles cashflow reconciliation
• Follow up on detected ledger mis-posts and monitor to ensure corrections are made where required.
• Ensure monthly verification file is completed and ready for review
• Running and maintenance of WD6 reports – ensuring all entities reported and shut
• Have an in-depth knowledge of the Group debt facilities and assist with accounting treatment where applicable
Quarterly reporting
• Prepare Interim financial statements / investor reports
• Provide PBC information required by auditors in connection with the quarterly audit of consolidation
• Prepare business combination note for inclusion within the financial statements
• Collect and upload proforma calculations / verification
• Prepare quarterly intangibles forecasts and tax analysis for the tax team
• Review and prepare quarterly FX adjusting entries
Annual reporting
• Prepare business combination notes for the stat checker for onward submission to the Reporting team.
• Prepare year end net asset segmental analysis for impairment purposes
• Provide all PBC information required by Deloitte in connection with the annual audit of consolidation
• Year-end control tasks such as late posting P12 and P13 journals. Producing stat to ledger reconciliations and maintaining company
directors list
• Collect and upload proforma calculations / verification to Tagetik
• Assist in preparation of notes to the financial statements
• Prepare annual verification file
• Other ad hoc tasks as and when required within the team’s responsibilities
• Prepare annual tax ledger analysis for the tax team
Candidate profile and skillset:
• Good working knowledge of a group accounting function
• Statutory accounts preparation and delivery knowledge
• Consolidation and IFRS knowledge would be advantageous
• Effective written and oral communication skills to communicate complex accounting language simply
• Ability to build strong relationships required for liaising with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to challenge, enquire and analyse
• Ability to apply existing skills to other tasks as required
• Driving continuous improvement and innovation
• Analytical and problem-solving skills required to recognise and solve problems / issues when they arise
• Able to present information in a concise, efficient and professional manner to senior management
• Building strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
