Job Title: Procurement Assistant

Salary: £11 - £12.82 per hour, DOE

Location: Chatham

Hours: Mon - Fri 9am - 5:30pm

Our client, a well-established FMCG manufacturing company, is looking for a temporary Procurement Assistant to join their busy and supportive team on an on-going basis.

Duties include:

* Raising purchase orders, then contacting suppliers to confirm deliveries to agreed timetables.
* Booking all deliveries into allotted time slots on the schedules.
* Building great relationships with suppliers to ensure deliveries are OTIF, and raising any issues as needed for quick resolution.
* Supporting with monthly stock takes.
* Liaising effectively between the finance team and suppliers to resolve invoice and delivery queries.
* Maintaining accurate records at all times, including keeping all supplier contact details up to date on internal systems.
* Communicating effectively with warehouse teams about stock levels, planning and ordering to ensure levels remain where they need to be, taking lead times into account.

The successful candidate will have:

* Experience within a similar role in the FMCG industry.
* Related qualifications, ideally with CIPS or working towards it.
* Good IT skills, including advanced Excel.
* Fantastic written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation.
* Strong numeracy and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
* A positive, calm, and resilient personality.
* Drive to learn, develop, and progress.
