Commercial Accountant | 55-60k + car allowance + package | Kent / Hybrid Working

A high profile and prestigious global business with offices in Kent is seeking to recruit a high calibre Commercial Accountant, directly reporting to the Senior Finance Manager and providing support to other financial leads and the wider management team. There will be exposure to the business unit leaders, central finance and commercial & operational staff across the business with excellent opportunities for progression and the opportunity to add value in the commercial and strategic direction of the function.

The Opportunity
• Business partnering the senior management team across the Group with direct exposure to multiple business streams and divisions
• Preparation of monthly business unit P&Ls, Cash flows and Balance Sheets - including accounting for contract performance and
performing variance analysis against budget and forecast. Investigating key variances with the individual project teams and challenging
assumptions where necessary.
• Work closely with finance and commercial teams to accurately report the financials on a monthly basis.
• Preparation of key analysis and development of KPIs, ensuring the business has relevant information to drive commercial decision
making
• Supporting the strategic development of the business objectives and medium term plans
• Preparation of monthly rolling forecasts, along with quarterly Group submissions and preparation of annual budgets.
• Consolidation of weekly / monthly project cash flow forecasts, understanding the rationale for significant movements and communicating
changes proactively.
• Support Finance Team in delivering ad-hoc project work (e.g. cash maximisation, efficiency reviews, IT projects etc).

Skills
• Commercial awareness and ability to understand long-term accounting
• Experience in working across multiple businesses/disciplines
• Strong financial and analytical skills
• Proven Internal and External relationship building and business partnering
• Excellent IT skills – particularly Excel and accounting systems and data manipulation
• Excellent communication and influencing skills. An ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to build and maintain good working
relationships.
