Position:

Are you a recent school / college leaver or have you finished your mechanical engineering qualification NVQ level 3/HNC/HND and don’t know what you want to do next.

Are you looking for an opportunity to learn the whole workshop / manufacturing environment and develop your career?

Through practical on the job training, you will improve your knowledge of areas such as: CNC machining, CNC programming, product assembly & testing, manual inspection, Goods in / despatch / logistics and calibration.

This could lead to multiple career paths with us. You don’t know what you don’t know yet.

Areas we will train & develop you in:

• Load existing programs to CNC machines set up tooling to operate CNC machine tools and carry out machining operations as required by production documents
• Learn to be conversant with machine tool controls and basic programming languages i.e., Fanuc
• Making minor program changes to existing programs to provide the most efficient machining methods
• Reading and understanding manufacturing drawings / schematics
• Materials selection for manufacturing
• Goods inward / manual inspection
• Bench assembly and product test
• Despatch / logistics

Your background:

• You might be a recent school/college leaver with an interest in practical engineering.
• You might have gone down the apprentice route / college or further education in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• You will have some previous workshop or engineering / manufacturing experience – this might have been gained from your apprenticeship, from a placement, or from laboratory work as part of your studies. We don’t mind as long as you have the willingness to learn

Your attributes:

• You will be hungry and willing to learn, have great attention to detail and be proud that you are an Engineer
• You will enjoy a bespoke training programme tailored to your strengths and weaknesses, 23 days leave + bank holidays. Company Pension scheme and the opportunity for further training, learning etc.

Qualifications:

• A-Levels equivalent or NVQ level 3 in engineering
• Or a recent graduate in mechanical engineering / industrial engineering or equivalent
