Job Purpose

Responsible for the effective management of claims pertaining to the global marine cargo and transportation division.



Responsibilities

* Work closely with the off-site Claims Technical Team to ensure that all new claims are logged, existing claims are updated, and settlements are processed.
* Use technical knowledge and experience to assess claims validity and quantum.
* Lead claims negotiations with markets and act as a strong advocate for clients.
* Ensure that all claim matters are prioritised and actioned appropriately to facilitate a timely and proficient service.
* Maintain open lines of communication with clients, account managers, underwriters and appointed adjusters/experts.
* Provide advice, support and guidance to clients and colleagues.
* In general take accountability for creating a cohesive, co-ordinated and pro-active claims service that will actively help in building trust with clients and achieve a high retention rate.
* Provide claims statistics and reporting.
* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all claims information, paper/digital files.



Person Specification

* Candidates must be able to show strong technical knowledge of handling global marine cargo and transportation claims
* Experience in the Lloyd's / London market (ECF) etc is a desirable asset.
* The ability to prioritise workstreams and co-ordinate with various stakeholders is a requirement.
* A proven track record of developing relationships with clients is required.
