Finance Assistant | Sandwich/Hybrid after probation | Up to £28K

My client, based in Sandwich is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their small finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you be assisting in the smooth running of the finance department and ensure all work is completed to agreed timescales.

The Finance Assistant duties:
• Daily multi-currency bank reconciliations and monthly bank revaluations
• Prepare bi-weekly BACS runs for review and submit approved BACS files, generate ad hoc payments & overseas transfers
• Assist PL Clerk with complex queries as required
• Ensure timely processing of ad-hoc invoices & freight/import invoices
• Post SL invoices to Opera, reconcile the SL to ICAPS and issue SMT figures daily
• Prepare & submit EC Sales and Intrastat submissions on a monthly basis
• Analyse specified Nominal Ledger accounts
• Monthly control account reconciliations
• Maintain the fixed asset register
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and yearly management accounts
• Reconcile the VAT control account monthly and prepare the monthly VAT return for review
• Raise & post journals as required
• Prepare the accruals & prepayments
• Close off & reconcile Sales Ledger & Purchase Ledger on a monthly basis
• Prepare inter-company reconciliations and assist with FMRS
• Back-up for payroll
• Any other ad hoc duties as required
