Context of the role:

Our client is looking to find an experienced UK property & casualty underwriter who can help drive profitable growth of the P&C portfolio as a member of an established team underwriting larger and more complex business.

This role will offer a fantastic platform for someone looking for their next role to progress their career to a leadership role.



Role summary:

* Promoting the Property & Casualty offering to regional underwriters and broker partners.
* Underwriting larger, more complex cases and taking referrals.
* Leading and setting the execution of the UK-wide underwriting strategy.
* Influencing the UK Product Heads on underwriting appetite and strategy
* Leading underwriting and sales visits to larger clients and prospects
* Providing leadership to ensure that the target retention rates are achieved.
* Developing close, effective relationships with brokers to develop new opportunities.
* Keeping abreast of the competitive landscape from market moves to new product launches

The essentials:

* An excellent understanding of P&C and underwriting larger more complex risks
* Excellent knowledge of the insurance market, industry, competitors, Brokers and factors that can affect the market including soft/hard markets
* Excellent relationship management and sales skills
* Leads underwriting and sales visits to larger clients and prospects
* Acts as the referral point for larger more complex cases
* Coaches and mentors less experienced underwriters in underwriting and sales skills
