We are currently seeking Drivers Mates to work on a flexible basis for one of our clients based in Aylesham near Canterbury.
Due to the start time of 06:00am own transport is preferred as no public transport is assessable to that area for the start time.
Drivers mates are required to assist the driver with the unloading of the products from the vehicles, answer the cab telephone on behalf of the driver to the depot or make calls to the customers to let them know the ETA.
Customer service is important as you will be liaising with customers in regards to their delivery and also meeting customers with their orders.
Shifts start at 06:00am this position is a drop and finish role, meaning finish times are hard to predict due to traffic problems, orders etc so flexibility with hours is a must.
The main duties of this role will involve working alongside the driver on multidrop deliveries of brown and white goods across Kent, loading and unloading the lorry, helping the driver with directions, answering the cab phone and speaking to the depot and customers. This job does involve heavy lifting and long hours with the minimum of an 8 hour shift. Candidates would need to have excellent customer service skills as you will be delivering the goods to customers’ homes. Own transport is required as public transport is not assessable in this area for the time that the shift starts.
You will be required to deliver only at a pay rate of £10.42 per hour.
