IT & Process Improvement Trainee

£18000-£23000 DOE + personalised training and development package

MEP Ltd are looking for an IT and Process improvement Trainee to join their IT team in Aylesford. This role is for a trainee and as such previous experience is not essential. The Primary purpose of this role is to work alongside the IT manager to maintain and improve MEP’s IT systems and infrastructure. The secondary purpose is to gain a strong understanding of all aspects of the business and therefore be able to assist with process improvement and the company’s digitisation plans.

The job role will include tasks such as:
• Support the company in its Digitisation Project
• Ensure security and privacy of the networks and computer systems.
• Monitor and maintain the ERP system, supporting users and having an in-depth understanding of the software and its use across the
company, with the ability to train users.
• Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to their specifications.
• Maintain TPM on all servers, workstations, laptops, printers etc. to ensure minimal downtime.
• Maintain external connectivity (broadband/fibre/SIP/ISDN/phone lines etc)
• Maintain records/logs of repairs, fixes and amendments and passwords.
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems, using external hardware and software experts where necessary.
• Identify out of date technology along with a hardware replacement schedule by agreement with the IT Manager & MD
• Suggest improvements to ensure the highest utilization for the existing software.
• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
• Set up hardware where appropriate.
• Response to user issues and requests within the agreed timeframe
• Maintain KPI’s as requested.
• Represent the IT function in cross functional teams.

Key requirements
• Flexible and adaptable, able to learn a broad variety of skills concurrently.
• Work with flexibility within a team environment and demonstrate the ability for working on their own initiative.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Good GCSE passes in English and Maths.
• Interest in IT Hardware.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Desirable
• An interest or knowledge in Manufacturing and Aerospace.
• An interest or knowledge in Microsoft Azure.
• An interest or knowledge in ERP Systems.

Training
MEP Ltd offer a wide range of training opportunities. An individual training plan will be agreed with the successful candidate which will include formal qualifications.
