The Leigh Academy has an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant who will make a real impact to our students' learning. The role of a Teaching Assistant involves working with students across Years 7 to 13 in a variety of subject areas, either on a 1-1 basis or in small groups. Some students may have Special Educational Needs that you can support them with (training is offered in this remit), whilst others may need extra assistance from someone with a passion for the subject to push them even further. The Leigh Academy has inclusion at the heart of the school and has 2 special support provisions on site.
The students you will be working with are by no means behind in the subject, but need extra encouragement and support to ensure they understand each topic and to enhance their confidence within the subject. The ability to build strong and effective working relationships is essential for this role, so if you feel you meet the criteria – we’d love to hear from you!
This position is ideal for those seeking to embark on teacher training, as this role offers first hand experience and exposure to classroom teaching and the opportunity of working directly with our teaching staff.
This basis of this role is permanent and offers an actual salary of £17,881 (£20,789 full time equivalent) based on 37 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week inset.
