Due to business growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Production Planner to join the Planning & Purchasing team at our Sittingbourne site.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break (40 hours per week).
Salary of £25,000 - £31,000 depending on experience.
What does the role involve?
Working alongside the Planning and Purchasing Manager, you will work continuously to improve upon the Company’s production and distribution processes; ensuring goods manufactured are produced in a cost-effective way whilst meeting quality specifications, and ready to distribute to customers in a timely fashion.
Main Responsibilities include:
• Liaise with the sales team / review forecasts to determine customer requirements.
• Develop production schedules detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by for the manufacturing and assembly areas.
• Monitor production to ensure adherence and progress to schedules.
• Ensure the relevant areas of production are running at optimum efficiency by monitoring KPI’s.
• Liaise with suppliers and other departments (QC, Engineering, etc.) to ensure all resources will be available when required.
• React to unexpected customer demands and adjust production plans accordingly.
• Troubleshoot problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions/breakdowns
• Manage finished stock levels to ensure orders are met and that warehouse space is optimised.
About You... (What are we looking for?)
• Previous experience (minimum 2 years) in a similar role
• Experience working with a manufacturing ERP system (SAP preferable).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Capability to work as part of a team and/or on own initiative and under pressure.
• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
