Senior Hardware Engineer - Rochester - Hybrid & Flexible working options - £45,000 - £52,000 (D.o.E) + overtime
Our client, a leading defence, marine, and aerospace company, is seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the development of innovative hardware solutions for safety-critical technologies. These technologies include Helmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, and more.
What you'll be doing:
Execute complex hardware design tasks, ensuring adherence to the development plan and meeting project deadlines and budgets.
Capture hardware requirements and perform preliminary and detailed designs, including analysis tasks.
Coach and develop junior team members, sharing your expertise and knowledge.
Deliver design artefacts in line with industry standards and company requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and work in an integrated environment.
Assume people management responsibilities alongside technical duties.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Degree/HND in Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Proven knowledge and experience in digital and/or analogue electronics technologies.
Experience in the complete engineering development lifecycle, from concept to product certification.
Ability to work within cost and schedule constraints, ensuring program requirements are met.
Inquisitive mindset, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
Proficiency in Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise.
Familiarity with analogue simulation tools like Simetrix or Spice.
Experience with system development tools such as Enterprise Architect, Matlab, Simulink.
