Job Description: To work on a one-to-one basis with participants across East Kent as part of the Cost-of-Living project. The support will be delivered through a 12-week programme, focussed on helping participants to address a wide range of issues in their lives that are contributing to health inequalities. All support is holistic and person-centred. The Community Connector will seek to empower individuals to address their needs and tackle the root causes of poverty. This support will include but is not limited to employability, digital skills, benefits maximisation, social and health needs.


Length of contract: 12 month fixed term with the potential of a further 12 month extension.
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Location: This is a field-based role with the office base in Folkestone
Salary: £26,000

Main duties
• Deliver tailored 1:1 support to a caseload of participants in designated areas of East Kent. This includes dedicated employability support to an agreed proportion of your caseload.
• Have a good understanding of the project KPIs and reporting requirements, and work with the project manager to ensure these are achieved in a timely manner.
• Link in with local services and organisations to help participants access local support for ongoing assistance and to promote community engagement.
• Develop a good knowledge of the local labour market and engage with local employers to maximise job starts.
• Liaise with local Job Centres and other key stakeholders to promote the project and encourage referrals and provide feedback to referrers where necessary.
• Write case studies to capture the journey of the participants and evidence the impact of the project.
• Create and promote a culture that is welcoming, respectful, inclusive, kind and supportive.
• Any other reasonable duties/tasks that me be required for the success of SEK.
