Your new role
* Providing advice, support and briefings to senior managers to enable them to take on their full people management responsibilities
* Providing advice, guidance and support on all employee relations matters to managers and staff across the academy, including disciplinary and grievance processes, ill health, flexible working, maternity and paternity, performance and attendance management
* Coaching, developing and advising line managers to enable them to fully undertake their people management responsibilities
* Advising on organisational changes and other reviews of roles and responsibilities
* Providing information about HR policies and procedures to managers and staff as appropriate
* Prepare and manage Occupational Health referrals
* Supporting the development and maintenance of a performance management culture
* Supporting effective performance appraisal and CPD through oversight of the performance management system
* To manage and coordinate projects in support of HR objectives including policies and working with third party providers
* Working closely with the HR Director in developing and delivering specified objectives, project work, business process mapping etc, whilst ensuring timely, accurate data and case tracking is implemented
* Monitoring and analysing HR Management information and identifying trends and issues and proactively proposing tactical or strategic actions to address the issue/lead to improvements. Consulting and liaising with recognised trades union representatives involved in individual case work
* Leading the local recruitment and retention strategy
* Managing and coordinating recruitment and selection processes
* Responsible for co-ordinating the induction programmes and overseeing the management of new staff probationary periods
* Responsible for monitoring budgets within the area of responsibility
* Ensure data entry into the payroll and pension procedures are completed in accordance with the time scales set by the payroll provider, working closely with the financial processing team.
* To participate in performance appraisal and to undertake performance appraisal for direct reports (1 HR Admin).
What you'll need to succeed
* CIPD qualifications or equivalent experience
* Proven experience of working at an HR Manager or Business Partner level
* Proven generalist Human Resources experience.
* Proven ability to prepare and deliver briefings and training to staff on HR topics and policy
* A thorough understanding of employment law and HR good practice.
* Experience of using HR software packages
* Good attention to detail and good organisational skills
* Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and have the ability to use a range of software systems

Your new role
